Our Day

The school day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.15 pm.  Registration is prompt at 8:50am so that learning can begin immediately.

Nursery          Mornings 8.45am to 11.45am

                         Afternoons 12.15pm to 3.15pm

                         Full days 8.45am – 3.15pm

Break Time

All children across school (Y1-6) have a morning break.

Lunch time is 12noon to 1pm for all children from Reception to Year 6.

Our younger children have an afternoon playtime. The timings of these are dependent on what the class is doing that afternoon. The older children may have a brain break from their work in the classroom or the class teacher may take the children out for an active break - something that we are very keen to promote at Morley Victoria.  

Drop off and collection

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents / carers are encouraged to come and wait in the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all families. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know - this avoids any confusion or upset as we have a duty of care to check when someone collects who we do not recognise.

If you would like to speak to a member of staff, please come and ask at the school office and they will go and find them for you. Many of our staff run early morning groups or are in meetings before school so we would appreciate it if you could help us by going via the office. 

Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and remember that emergency vehicles may need to get through to school or the surrounding houses.
